fishing report
February 27, 2024
Steady catches off Albatross Point at depths of 58-65 meters, sizable gurnard, and marlin activity extending into shallower waters of 55-65 meters.
Fishing has remained steady this week, with a change of location closer to home off Albatross Point, still at depths of 58-65 meters.
Despite smaller signs on the sounder, the fishing has been productive, with snapper averaging 2 kilos and a good number of sizeable gurnard, though spiny dogs have made a slight appearance.
Albacore tuna have been scarce, mostly found in the 65-75 meter range, but this may soon change with favourable water conditions moving closer.
Marlin activity continues to be strong out at 100 meters, with some sightings now in the 55-65 meter range.
