Fin Nor Biscayne Bait Teaser

How can you be impartial about a new reel when the company that produces them has a knack of always getting it right?

Fin Nor's legendary tough-as-nails status continues with the Biscayne Bait Teaser.

Big, tough, no-nonsense fish-it-into-the-ground reels have always been bread and butter for Fin Nor.

When you pick up the Bait Teaser it just feels like it’s built to last. It’s quite heavy and solid and you immediately want to get it rigged up and throw out big bait.

Don’t for a second think that this is some old-fashioned throwback though. The Bait Teaser is most definitely a reel for 2014.

Everyone knows how good the Biscayne is, so it was perhaps an obvious choice to offer a Bait Teaser option.

There’s a whole army out there who love this style of fishing. Cast your bait out, set the Bait Teaser lever to let line run and when that fish goes for it, strike, retrieve and boom!

Little mechanisms like the Bait Teaser lever can be tricky to get right. They’re quite intricate on the inside but have to be strong enough on the outside to withstand punishment.

There’s also a whole raft of great features to this reel including something that Fin Nor calls multi-layer mega shield corrosion protection.

Essentially, that means there’s more layers of protection against the salt and sand and whatever else you can throw at it. Good news for longevity.

There’s also five double-shielded stainless steel ball bearings – those are the features you would expect from a much more expensive reel.

When you consider that it’ll cost you as little as $199 as part of a combo, it would be silly not to buy it. This writer loved it so much, he bought one.
