Kiwi anglers take out 2018 Fiji National Game Fishing Comp.

Hosted by the Denarau Hame Fishing Club, anglers Ant Laity, Jack Laity, Henry McGarry and Smart Marine’s Josh Schiphorst, were stoked to get on the podium for this prestigious event.

Fished in great weather conditions, the boys headed out from the base of the Yasawa’s and boated mahi mahi, yellowfin tuna, marlin and sailfish for the win.

It was a close run thing, sitting in second on the leader board, mid-way through the comp, something a bit special was needed to get a nose in front.

On the last day Josh Schiphorst managed a nice sailfin on 8kg, and that was the trophy fish that propelled them into first place.

The lads are now qualified to represent Fiji at the Worlds in Costa Rica 2019!

Well done team
