Fish for Gold 2019 - $10K tagged trout promotion. If you've bought a new sports fishing licence, or you're thinking of buying one, we invite you to Fish for GolFish for Gold 2019 - $10K tagged trout promotion. If you've bought a new sports fishing licence, or you're thinking of buying one, we invite you to Fish for Gold! I'm sure many of you are already looking forward to the new fishing season which opens on Tuesday, 1 October 2019.

This from Fish and Game...

We are again spicing up the start of the new season in the Rotorua district with the chance to win $10,000, and some other great prizes – all you have to do is catch a fish with a special  tag (conditions apply*).

Here's how it works - Fish & Game will release 30 trout with specially numbered white coloured tags, 10 apiece into lakes Tarawera, Rotoiti and Okataina just prior to the season opening.

The 30 individually numbered tags correspond to sealed and numbered envelopes, one of which contains a grand prize of $10,000.  Another envelope contains a Yamaha 2HP outboard valued at $949 courtesy of Telfer Marine Rotorua.

If you catch a special white tag but don't catch one of these big prizes, then you’ll still be a winner – collecting vouchers or tackle provided by local businesses The Outdoorsman Headquarters or Kilwell.

Fish for Gold is free to enter if you have a current (2019/20 season) Fish & Game sports fishing licence (but not the free child's under 12 licence).

Children under 12 years can participate however, if they are included as part of a Family fishing licence.  Please note that the promotion is limited to the first 1200 entries – and you must register online. The promotion runs from the 1st to 13th of October 2019, but BE QUICK, because entries close at midnight on September 30th, or sooner if the limit of 1200 entries is reached.

So, if you want to Fish for Gold this opening, check-out the terms and conditions and entry form on Eastern Fish & Game's website - CLICK HERE to view.
