Winter is a great time to shelter up in shallow bays with little current flow and target a tasty feed of squid.
Most New Zealand bays that hold kelp and weed will be likely places to target squid, and here's a great video that has some good hints and tips. Squid are no different here to the ones the Aussies get, and all the same techniques and advice apply.
