fishing report
July 5, 2024

Good catches of snapper, gurnard, and kingfish off Albatross Point.
Recently, despite it being the middle of winter, there has been some very good fishing. While not always full bags, the numbers are still impressive with plenty of good-sized snapper and gurnard at times. Additionally, we have been catching a few sizable kingfish on the west coast, weighing between 10-14kg, just using ledger rigs while snapper fishing.
Kahawai have been around in almost plague proportions at times, which can be challenging when you have a boatload of punters; there's plenty of work for the crew sorting everything out. Most fishing activity has been happening 45-55 meters off Albatross Point.
As for the weekend weather: better to stay home, as it's not looking great.
Kind regards Rob & Jacqui Fitzgerald
